Customs regulations for Spain have very specific requirements for Non-EU citizens and EU citizens. You can only move to Spain if you have stayed abroad—outside of the EU—for a minimum of one year. A notable customs requirement for the movement of animals is that you will be required to provide a certificate of health, as well as a vaccination certificate. Should you own a dog, you will be subject to a yearly tax amount or licence, depending on the Spanish city you choose to relocate to. Upon signing and submitting a valued inventory list in Spanish for all household goods, all household goods must be imported within a twelve-month period. This period follows the date of issuance of the Change of Residence Certificate for Spanish citizens, and/or the date of issuance of the first Spanish Residence permit for foreign citizens.
