Perhaps one of the biggest concerns of a move is the transport of antiques and artworks. Our art handlers will source specialist materials to protect your valuables and to avoid damage to artworks and artifacts.
There are times when you need to move before your belongings do. If that’s the case we offer secure, air-conditioned and non air-conditioned, modern facilities with 24/7 security.
Don’t have time to deal with disconnection of utilities or a full clean of your property before you arrive or depart? Our valet service not only provides a full pack/unpack service but can also arrange a full departure service that includes closing your utilities, obtaining clearance certificates or selling your car!
Various shipping options are available depending on your needs. Our moving consultant will assist you with choosing the most appropriate method of shipping from sea to air to land.
Full Container Load (FCL) shipment
This simply means you have your own dedicated steel shipping container. Where access allows, it will be loaded and closed at your residence before being taken to the port for loading onto the booked vessel to your destination country.
Less than Full Container Load (LCL) shipments
You may not need a full container for your belongings, so we move your goods into a purpose-built wooden shipping case at our warehouse. These will then be loaded inside a steel shipping container and sent to your final destination.
For popular worldwide destinations, a shared use container service may be the most economical answer. Several shipments heading to the same destination are consolidated and loaded into a shipping container. This suits customers with flexible moving / delivery dates and smaller shipments.
Although generally more expensive than sea freight, as costs are calculated on volume vs weight, it is worth considering sending a small shipment of essential items before your sea shipment containing your heavier belongings is dispatched. In addition to moving essential items, this may be the best answer if you only have a relatively small shipment to send. The overall advantage of air freight is that goods arrive in days rather than weeks.
Although this is sometimes the most cost-effective option, road freight is most commonly used for moves within the Middle East as international moves by road can take weeks to reach their final destination. As with other types of freight, all your personal belongings are packed within a closed vehicle to protect them from the elements.
Sometimes we all hit a small bump in the road. Even though we take the greatest of care of your possessions, we do recommend you insure your goods whilst they are on the move. GAC can offer you a comprehensive, door-to-door marine transit insurance package, simply ask our team for more information.
