COVID-19 Update

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts communities worldwide, we want to share with you the steps GAC is taking to make protecting the health and safety of our customers, and our own team, our top priority.

We’re closely following updates on the evolving impact of COVID-19 and, based on guidance from local health authorities and the World Health Organization, we’ve developed plans and established a task force to respond in a timely and appropriate manner.

Housekeeping and sanitation efforts in our offices and warehouses have been extensively expanded. We’re frequently disinfecting often-touched surfaces such as door handles, countertops, keypads, restroom surfaces, break room areas, and delivery bays. All of our teammates and visitors are required to follow the WHO guidelines to prevent the spread of the infection – something we urge everyone to do. And we have eliminated all non-essential visitors to our facility and prohibited unnecessary company travel.

We will continue to do our best to protect ourselves and our customers. To help us, we ask that you also take precautions such as making sure that frequently touched Items, such as doorknobs and handrails, are clean. Importantly, if someone in your household has a weak immune system or is considered at high risk in any way, please let us know as soon as possible so we can take extra precautions for your move.

We feel deeply for everyone affected by the pandemic. Thankfully, so far, we are not aware of any of our team members or customers contracting COVID-19. Clear guidelines have been put in place instructing any team member who may develop symptoms or come into contact with infected individuals to stay home and follow the health authorities’ instructions.

We Are Implementing the following Procedures:

VIRTUAL VIDEO SURVEYS:

All prospective customers are offered an alternative to the traditional on-site pre-move survey. We have updated our technology to include the ability to perform a VIRTUAL VIDEO SURVEY of your home or office to minimise face-to-face contact whilst still allowing our Moving Consultants to provide accurate move estimates.

PRE-MOVE TEAM MEMBER WELLNESS CHECK:

We have displayed posters about signs and symptoms of COVID-19 at all our offices to ensure our team members are fully aware of the risks and any precautions that need to be taken. Any of our team who feel ill or suspect that they may have had contact with an infected person, are instructed not to come into the office and notify the Scheduling Team as soon as possible. Hand cleaning supplies are readily available at all our offices and warehouses.

INCREASED CLEANING:

We are refocusing and increasing cleaning duties at our offices, warehouse and in the interior cab of our moving trucks, all of which are equipped with disinfectant wipes or spray. Particular attention is being given to increased cleaning of frequently touched surfaces using an antimicrobial disinfectant.Such surfaces include door handles, steering wheels, phones, work surfaces, bathrooms, and common areas.

SOCIAL DISTANCING:

Upon arrival at our customers’ homes or offices, our team members practice social distancing. While we have always valued the professionalism and respect that came with a good introductory handshake, during the COVID-19 period, we ask for our customers’ understanding that our people will refrain from any physical contact.
